Job Objective
The Threat and Vulnerability Management Senior Associate plays a crucial role in safeguarding the organisations networks and systems against cyber-attacks. This role involves the design, implementation, and maintenance of security controls and systems, responding to security incidents, and contributing to the overall improvement of the organisation’s cybersecurity posture.
The position supports the Cyber Defence Manager in achieving the organisation’s cybersecurity objectives and ensuring day-to-day operations align with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
1. Security Implementation and Management:
o Design, implement, and maintain security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM solutions.
o Configure and optimise security controls to enhance their effectiveness.
o Manage the lifecycle of security systems, ensuring timely upgrades and maintenance.
2. Threat Monitoring and Incident Response:
o Monitor and analyse security-related data to detect and respond to potential threats and vulnerabilities.
o Provide incident response support and ensure continuous testing and improvement of incident response capabilities.
3. Threat Intelligence and Mitigation:
o Stay informed about new attack techniques and recommend solutions to mitigate potential risks.
o Continuously assess and enhance the organisation’s defences to address emerging threats.
4. Collaboration and Compliance:
o Work closely with incident response, forensic, and threat intelligence teams to address vulnerabilities effectively.
o Participate in security assessments and audits to maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.
5. Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement:
o Produce detailed reports on the effectiveness of security controls and systems.
o Manage periodic reports for senior management to facilitate strategic decision-making.

* Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Respond (MTTR) to cybersecurity incidents.
* Reduction in the frequency and impact of security incidents.

Required Qualifications and Experience
1. Education:
o Mandatory: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
2. Certifications:
o Industry-recognised certifications such as CCNA Security, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar are required.
3. Experience:
o At least 8 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls and systems.
4. Technical Knowledge:
o Strong understanding of frameworks such as ISO27001, NIST, and OWASP.
o Knowledge of security concepts like SASE and SOAR.
o Expertise in risk management principles and their application in a secure environment.
5. Soft Skills:
o Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey complex security concepts.
o Project management experience to oversee and report on cybersecurity initiatives.
